Indoor Rowing Badges Please!

I get why cycling and running are natural ones for badges - 5k, 10k, half and full marathons etc are well studied, documented, reported on.

Indoor rowing using a tool like the Concept2 Rower is just as well-studied and documented - it's easy to compare performance between rows because of the consistency between machines.

How about some rowing badges? The usual suspects would include:
  • 100 meter
  • 500 meter
  • 2k (painful measure of VO2Max)
  • 5k for time
  • 6k for time (measure of Anaerobic threshold)
  • 30'R20 (that's 30 minutes at "rate 20" or 20-strokes per minute) - measures aerobic base at a category 5/6 intensity, and if you can build your Aerobic base up, it also pushes up your Anaerobic, and consequently your VO2max which benefits your ability to race over 2km
  • 60 minutes
  • HM - Half-Marathon
  • FM - Full-Marathon
  • 50k ultra
  • 75k ultra
  • 100k ultra
  • 12-hour
I think at least the 2k, 5k, 10k, HM, FM and ultras would make great badges.
  • Hi good people of Garmin, I realise there have been numerous previous posts on this matter but I wish to bring it up again in a separate post in the hope of getting your attention. Would it be possible to please establish badges (and eventually perhaps challenges) for indoor rowing? Indoor rowing is hugely popular around the world and is seen as a more effective cardiovascular workout than running and so I believe it deserves recognition in the form of badges, especially when other less accessible and more niche type sports have been given this type of badge incentives. Regarding what badges to provide, I shall not get into detail as other posts  have already suggested distance and milestones as well as general rowing badge suggestions. I just ask that you please give consideration to these requests.

Thank you for reading this, I eagerly anticipated your response/ action.
From an Irish Rower and long-standing Garmin fan.
