Possibly since the last update (although I don't bother to track exactly when every update happens), and certainly within the past week, the Sync button is no longer showing in the Garmin Express screen. But just leaving Garmin Express running, with the ANT stick plugged in and my Forerunner 310XT on, it doesn't automatically upload. Actually it hasn't done the automatic upload in a while, but that's where the Sync button came in handy. Clicking that made it upload every time. But without the Sync button, there doesn't seem to be a way for me to force an upload. My Garmin Express is running version 6.11.1.0. Any ideas?
As recently as a week or two ago (I never thought to track changes because I didn't think it that important) I had a Sync button on my Garmin Express.
When I think about the history of the my Garmin, when I first got the Garmin about 5 or 6 years ago, for the longest time there was no Sync button. The Garmin would just connect, sometimes sooner, sometimes later, once the ANT stick was plugged in and then the data would transfer. Then, I would guess about a year or two ago, suddenly a Sync button appeared, which allowed me to force an upload to start. This was nice, because, as mentioned, sometimes just waiting for the upload to occur could take minutes to many hours, whereas clicking the Sync button forced an immediate upload. Now that Sync button is gone again.
I was able to transfer the data from the Garmin to my account by going onto the watch and selecting "Transfer All". That definitely worked, although it was slow because it had to go through everything in the watch to make sure it was or was not already uploaded.
Of course there is still a SYNC button on Garmin Express v6.11.1.0, which is supposedly the latest version.
The button isn't much use though because all it does is generate the red bar error msg "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" for the last week.
And now the Sync button is back! I did a workout this morning, and around noon plugged in the ANT stick, fired up Garmin Express and left the watch sitting there. There was no Sync button at that time. Came back ~60 minutes later and that morning's workout had uploaded. Still no Sync button showing. But just now (~8PM), based on the latest comment, I fired up Garmin Express to take a screen shot showing there is no Sync button there, and lo and behold, now the Sync button is back.
Go figure. No reboots, no re-installs, etc., in between noon and 8PM.
