Training plan select run

I recorded a run. I now want it associated with the running coach traninig session of today.
I can't find the button to select workout (other platforms like runkeeper and suunto has it in the workout), where is it?

Thank you
PS. If there is no button, what is the best solution?
  • I don't believe there is a way to do it in Garmin Connect.
Nor do I believe that Garmin training plans take your done workouts into account.

    Thank you.

I got an idea of a possible workaround if I would do it again.
Somewhere on the forum I read about coaches sending FIT files to their athletes with their training schedule.
If it works like that I can rename the file that i run and put it where the watch expects that the run will show up. Might be this file:
    /GARMIN/GARMIN/SCHEDULE/SCHEDULE.FIT
Gonna do some "research" on my own checking file sizes.

Can anyone elaborate how the training works or what is kind of known about it?

My "research" was to run according to plan and watch the files.
New .FIT files were added to the folders SLEEP, MONITOR, METRICS, ACTIVITY and CHNGLOG.
To my disappointment the SCHEDULE.FIT was untouched.

I guess that the information is in the ACTIVITY fit file and perhaps some information in the "change log" file.
Probably it's not possible to just rename any file. The contents of the file has to be edited so that it has whatever information inside, which makes a bit more complicated. I would guess that there is some kind of magic identifier added to the file that corresponds to the workout.

I did try to start an event and just run it through as a 10 second event and then copying my actual run information in connect.garmin.com but no success. The result is that the "coach" still points out room for improvement (that is the comment on the 10 second run).

My assumption is that this subject should be moved to feature request.
