Since two weeks, live track does not work anymore. When opening the livetrack from mail "popup" No signal, Trying to reconnect.
By saving the track it is directly uploaded.

4.13.5 doesn't fix the problem. Also tried using a T-Mobile connected phone instead of Verizon and that didn't help either. I've tried different phones (Samsung S8 and S9 both with Android 8.0), different watches (920XT and Fenix 5S), and different phone services (Verizon and T-Mobile with each having a strong 4G LTE signal). I've used GCM 4.13.5 as well as 4.13.4. I've also unpaired and re-paired the watches to the phones. All the other bluetooth functionality works fine including smart notifications and transferring completed activities. Livetrack is the only thing that doesn't work. This seemed to all start with GCM 4.13.4. Is there a way to roll back to GCM 4.13.3 or earlier so I can regain livetrack functionality??
  • CGhost looks like Garmin is assisting other users on">this thread">this thread, so you might want to follow or respond there...

alexeames - What exactly is happening during your LiveTrack? Does the LiveTrack start and show no detail in the link that is sent? Does it not start at all? When was the last time you were able to use LiveTrack successfully?

  • I have the same problem
    Xiaomi Redmi 3S
Garmin Fenix 3 and Garmin Edge 520

    Garmin Live Track is annoying
  • I have the same problem with an Fenix 3 HR and S9 Plus. No Signal. Started happening about two weeks ago. Updated my watch with an update that made be confirm consent for LiveTrack Real-time Activity. I confirmed and LiveTrack has not work since. Tried revoking and reconfirming consent, reset my watch, which deleted everything, and reinstalled App on my phone. My wife tracks my long trail runs and has been very useful. Got to be something with the updates to confirm consent.
  • i have the F5x+ and it seems to work for me... IOS tho.
However, I don't quite like livetrack as it lacks the specificity of being able to also _show_ the user's current following course/track/route. Otehrwise, the spouse won't know how far more to go for the run etc.
  • Have a look at mapshare for that functionality
  • Same issue...
    Fénix 3 8.90
    Sony XPERIA XZ2c Android 9
    Garmin Connect for Android 4.13.5
  • For all those experiencing this, you are not alone. This is a known problem and has been for quite a while. There has been a lengthy string about it in the GCM Android forum: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/garmin-connect-mobile-application/garmin-connect-mobile-android/1387509-livetrack-issues-unacceptable-why-isn-t-this-high-priority-and-deemed-critical

The solution that myself and others have gone to is rolling back to GCM version 4.8. Absurd that we have to do this, but Garmin seems incapable of solving a problem that is so prevalent one would think they could reproduce it and solve it in the constant rolling updates. To roll back to 4.8, go to apkmirror.com and search on Garmin Connect (or use this link: https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=garmin+connect ). Download and install 4.8. You likely will need to enable the installation of unknown apps in settings.

Hard to tell when this will be resolved. With all the complaining about it and constant software releases, Garmin still has not solved it in 4.13.5 so who knows which version will finally get it.
  • hi have the same issue since the last update its not tracking my rides it keeps saying no signal whats going on
  • Thx mtsarpilot for that tip abut GC 4.8 version. LiveTrack finally works fine... 6 months... 6 months fighting with GC app... pathetic.
