I received my vivosmart 3 earlier this week and everything was running smoothly until Thursday, when a friend reset my device to factory settings. Friday morning, I noticed my sleep record was shifted six hours from when I knew I went to bed/woke up. I've attached screen shots of Thursday's activities, and a shot from today clearly showing that I'd synchronized my data at 0251, but the timeline below shows my data being recorded at 0851. I've attached a screen shot from Thursday that opines I changed time zones: my phone is on the correct time zone, my computer is on the correct time zone, my vivosmart 3 is set to automatically set time, and my profile is set to the correct time zone. My time zone is Central which accounts for the six hour shift: I'm guessing the data from the server that receives the event data (which is almost certainly running on UTC) isn't being corrected to my local time zone when the data is being extrapolated to my Connect account. How do I fix this? I've reset the device again, and removed and reinstalled Connect from my phone to no avail. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1423239.jpgciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1423240.jpgciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1423241.jpg
Saturday, 11 Nov 18. Well, I began the day by resetting the vivosmart to default and removing the Connect app from my phone. I waited until late afternoon to ensure that my data stored on the server would be empty for the duration of the day so as not to conflict with the ghost time zone on my Connect dashboard and my actual time zone. When you check your "Upload Time Zone" on your Display Preferences you should notice a note: This setting will only apply for new non-GPS uploads and does not change the time of activities already stored at Garmin Connect. Therefore a full day of no activity and no phone app data should have been sufficient to correct for any data stored in anomaly of my time zone. I added the Connect app to my phone and began the pairing process. After paired, I synchronized the data and to my chagrin discovered that my uploaded data is still showing a full six hours ahead of my local time. This is remarkably frustrating...I hope someone can help me out here. I very much like the vivosmart 3 and the Connect app and dashboard, but I can't spend the rest of my time trying to decipher my days six hours out of time.
I am also having the same issue with a vivosmart 4. I've tried everything mentioned here and on the facebook support group, but everything is still 6 hours off except the actual time on the device. I typically work out in the evening, so I started this morning with 4000 steps because the step goal had reset at 6pm last night. This is super frustrating. I also purchased a vivosmart as a Christmas gift for my mom, but I can't give it to her with the current issue. Any update on whether this is a known issue and a potential resolution date?
I'm having this exact same problem with a new vivosmart 4. Took it out of the box yesterday, set it up; all the times that record HR/sleep/pulse ox register 6 hours ahead (I'm in CST, and I assume this is UTC, as the posters above have mentioned). Is there any solution? I like this device, but this is frustrating enough that I may send it back.
I've been having the same issue since Friday. Making my new vivosmart 4 (purchased on Friday) the primary tracker (I also have a 935) shifts my tracked stats to UTC time (I'm CST). Switching the primary tracker back to the 935 fixes the problem. However, as the pulse ox only works when the VS4 is primary....this isn't an ideal fix.
I've talked to Garmin via their support online chat and they're aware of the issue and working on a fix. Any data collected by the VS4 that is showing UTC WILL be ok when the fix is pushed to the users (i.e. the data is still good and will show up correctly when the problem is fixed).
