Can't Sign In, Firefox on Windows 10

I can't sign in to GC on my Windows10 laptop with Firefox browser. There is no Sign In dialogue box. I can with Microsoft Edge Browser on same laptop.

I can also sign in on my Mac with Firefox. The browser is synced b/w both laptops so all the Firefox security and privacy settings are the same on both computers.

I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas?

Nor can I sign into this forum on the Windows 10 with Firefox.
  • Try safe mode: Menu > Help > Restart with Addons Disabled

If that works, then see if you have any addons that were recently updated and disable them, or report back here if you like.

    Well there ya go.
Just signed into this forum with Firefox in Safe Mode.
    Thanks WillNorthYork.
But, I'm not hugely tech savvy. What changes do I need to make to Firefox settings so I can sign in as per normal?

    Thanks again WNY.
I disabled a McAfee "Web Advisor" extension and everything works as smooth as silk. It was updated 7 days ago.
I don't think that add-on actually does much, or does it?
  • No worries!

Yeah, most 3rd-party anti-virus apps have been terrible, for about the last 5-10 years, especially the ones that try to block web threats. I found that they either slow down browsing to molasses, or, as you found out, they break stuff.

I would uninstall McAfee completely and just stick with Windows Defender, which is free and built-in to Windows 10.

Thanks WNY. This problem was bugging me for weeks. Mcafee disabled addin sorted the problem.
