Extracting accelerometer data

Hello!

I am trying to extract accelerometer data from my Garmin Forerunner 235. Ideally I would the raw accelerometer data. What file format should I export in to get this data? Do I need a program to look at this data? Any other advice?

I don't think there's a way to do this without writing your own Connect IQ app and logging the data yourself. Unfortunately you would need a newer device that supports "Connect IQ 2" (which the 235 doesn't). You would also need to write a full "device app" which replaces whatever native sport activity you normally use.

Could I possibly write an app for an older version of Connect IQ?

Unfortunately accel data is only available starting in CIQ 2.3.

I think the cheapest/oldest watch that supports CIQ 2 is probably the Vivoactive HR.
