In the activities list, it's impossible to tell the difference between a column that is sorted in descending order and an unsorted column (which has the ability to be sorted), without looking at the contents and guessing.
- Columns which are not sortable have no arrow beside them
- A column which is sorted in ascending order has a solid up arrow beside it
- A column which is sorted in decending order has a solid down arrow beside it
- A sortable column has a solid down arrow beside it

I understand there is a need to distinguish non-sortable columns from sortable columns. Maybe use a chevron for sortable columns?
e.g.

Or even the old-timey method of underlining the column title to show that it is a link (although I can understand why no one would want to do this). Anything that's not ambiguous would be better.
Also, the current scheme is not consistent across GC. For example, in the Reports > Progress Summary view, if you group by week, all the columns are sortable, but there is no visual indication....
