henochg - this file contains all the data that there was.
How many completed and uploaded activities are still on your device? If it's any more than a months worth then it could be time to archive the older ones off to a folder on your computer. It may be that there wasn't enough room on your device to write all the data into the file.
Thanks Mike, I guess not much data there. I have lots of files, I never really deleted any, didn't realize that I had to do it, guess. that kinda makes sense, but I assumed that Garmin would just push the old data off by itself, live and learn, thanks for the help and the tip.
I've stumbled on this thread and it looks like you are the guru for fixing files, is there anything you could do to fix the attached file? And is there anyway I can avoid it happening again or is there any easy way to fix it. The file uploaded fine to GC but not to Strava. Hope you can help and thank you if you can!
Today i did a ride of 83 km with a garmin 810. Everything went fine. could save the file. Now during sync he tells the file is corrupt. Can someone have a look at it. I tried myself a few fixers but did not work
I have a file from a 7-hour ride today that is somehow 1.3 MB and won't upload here because it exceeds the limit. The file won't upload to Garmin Connect or Strava. GC says it doesn't support the file type, which is odd because it's a fit file recorded today on my 820. Strava says the "upload appears to be malformed and we are unable to process it." Interestingly, I was able to manually upload the file to Training Peaks, but when I downloaded back from TP, the file has the added tag: .gz after fit and again GC and Strava won't take that because it's an unsupported file type.
So, any suggestions for how I should proceed? Not the end of the world or anything, but I'd like to be able to upload that long ride into GC and Strava.
