Corrupt fit-file? How to fix?

Hi there!

My device is syncing, but my latest activity does not show up in GC. Manual upload to the activity-list stucks without error message.

What app do I have to use to open file? Any ideas to get this fixed are welcome! :-D

kiwimtnbkr not sure what you did, but it is much appreciated, thank you sir! I was trying to figure out what causes this. Any ideas or links where I can read up?

Mike, kiwimtnbkr , can you fix this one for me: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3iq2kat7c4...10-40.fit?dl=0

FFRT will sort it as I used the demo app, which only converts the first half of the track and then drops it to somewhere off Africa ;-)

    Thanks Mark.

    Thanks Mike, worked great.
  • Hi,

yesterday I did a run, but my FR 630 crashed in the middle. I could reboot the FR and continue the run, however the fit file seems to be corrupt. Could someone look into it?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

I think Garmin had some problems with their servers yesterday which caused the sync to complain about corrupt FIT-files.
I also got an error about broken FIT-file when syncing yesterday afternoon. However, when trying to sync yesterday early evening, I saw a notice in Connect app about server maintenance, and after that, I could sync successfully without having "touched" the fit-file that was reported to have been broken a couple of hours earlier.
  • Unfortunately a re-sync is not working after the server issues. Even the manual import of the fit file in Connect hangs in the middle. Also the online fit file repair tool (http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/) hangs. So the fit file really seems to be damaged...

@goddi2k - give this filea try. Note that I had to remove the developer data from the file as that seemed to be causing an issue.

    cheers

  • kiwimtnbkr - thanks, unfortunately the import in Garmin Connect still does not work. I just reports an unspecific "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." error message during import. Any idea what could be the problem?
  • Hello,

I tried fixing this file using FFT and garmin.kiesewetter.nl. The original file opens in things like GC and such. But even the "fixed" files cannot be loaded into connect.

    Any help is appreciated. Thx
