Average value on zoomed curves

I do lot of interval training and I'm often interested in average values during some specific time or distance. At the moment the Connect app only shows average values for the whole training. When I zoom in for example power curve on my cycling, I see difference between two points but I'd like to also see the average value of that zoomed area. Thanks.
  • Try https://runalyze.com. It's free, it syncs with Garmin Connect and it does exactly what you want.
  • I like the garmin app on my phone and I'd like to stay using that.
  • Are you using Lap to breakup up sections of your activity?
  • Okay cool, I get it. It was just a suggestion for something to tide you over while you wait until Garmin implements your feature request. Wasn’t trying to imply that you shouldn’t use the GC app or that it isn’t a legit feature request. I wouldn't mind seeing that feature in GCM myself.

And to be fair, runalyze doesn't even support zooming on mobile, since they didn't bother to support touch properly.

Having said that, the GC website can do more and show you more than the GC app, and there are other (free) apps and websites that can show you even more. Nothing beats the simplicity and convenience of using a single app on your phone, but there's always gonna be limitations. Look at all the thousands of feature requests in this forum -- I bet not even 1% have been addressed, yet there's a few free websites, Chrome extensions or even other phone apps that can sync with GC/Strava and actually do some of the stuff that people ask for.

Couple of personal examples: I like the ability to chop up my activity into arbitrary laps after the fact and the ability to see my fastest km/400m/whatever during an activity. Pretty sure several people have asked Garmin for this stuff for years, but they haven't done it, so my only options are: give up on ever seeing that stuff or go to a free website (which is admittedly inconvenient.).

I've read this request countless times, yet Garmin doesn't seem to care. Even Flow (free like GC) let's you mark segments on graphs to get an overview of just the marked area. I'd like to cancel my yearly sub of TP but this is too important a feature for analyzing ones workouts. As of now, zooming in/marking segments is useless, just as marking splits/laps in GC. What is that even good for? They turn a bright yellow, but what value is there to it?
  • I was planning to add a request about this subject. But made a quick search on the subject and found this thread. So I just wanted to make my voice heard and say that I really think that this would be a valuable feature.

I wholeheartedly support this one! Very interesting feature when comparing to other athletes. Maybe that also can/should be added - make it possible to compare a competition/race with friends?
