I just bought a new pair of shoes and wish to retire my old ones. I have run 16 km over on the gear section. How do I get the Time to get go badge? Do I retire and keep using them?
That's what I thought, I've gone 16 km over the maximum mileage and still no badge..I was wondering if maybe the mileage exceeding the maximum limit had to be by a certain amount, but I guess I'll just retire them and maybe get the badge on the next pair of shoes.. even though that's bound to take some time :)
I have stumbled over the same just now. Limit for my shoes was 450km my previous run started before and ended just above the limit. I though i need to start a run above the limit. But my last run did not get the badge.
Yes, I also started an activity while above the limit but no badge. My shoes were old when I got garmin connect, so I modified the mileage to be less than the "standard" mileage of 644 km, and maybe that's the reason?
Hi! Had the same experience with this badge. Added gear and specified a mileage (Max Distance) for the shoe. Went over the shoe’s specified max distance during a run which I started while the shoe still had a few miles left to get to the max distance...and no badge. So, I thought that maybe it requires that I start a run with the shoe that’s already tracked and exceeding it’s max distance, which is what I did. Recorded an activity with the shoe standing on 2 kilometers over the specified max distance. Also...no badge. A little annoying. With Garmin devices and metrics being as amazing as it is, it’s a little disappointing that the awarding of badges is not working as well as the rest of the device and supporting software.
The badge says, "Use a piece of gear past its end of life". What constitutes the end of life gear? Is there a list? I tried powering up and using an old Forerunner 210, but that did not do the trick.
OMIT: I see that it is not really tied to a Garmin device. It is tied to the Gear that you manually add in the Gear section of Garmin Connect.
