GPS misbehaviour in mountains

Hello, I've recently bought Forerunner 935, had a few runs in Czech republic in a regular terrain and had no substantial problems. Now I am hiking on Madeira and I am having problems with route tracking. I don't really care about minor drifts from the paths. What really bothers me is really weird zig zagging and looping in different parts of the track. First I thought it's caused only by tunnels (there are a lot of them along every path) until I experienced similar problem on the different hike with no tunnels at all - on this hike I also used my iPhone gps tracking to compare both track and iPhone nailed it with no significant deviation, only minor drifts. I accept the fact that Forerunner 935 is not for mountain navigation and it has its limitation but still it is a dedicated GPS tracker for runners (including trail runners) and did worse than my old iPhone. Logs from these hikes are completely useless because those garbage points off the track sometimes add several kilometeres and hundreds of meters of elevation. This makes me thinking I will return this device and will start using iPhone again. Today I tried to use GPS plus GLONASS but zig zag lines and loops appeared again. I am running 10.10 software, EPO current and synchronized via Garmin Express, always waiting a minute for a proper fix before I start activity. I am attaching links to some activities (GPS only). Has anyone experienced similar problems and got a solution? My key point is - why is dedicated GPS tracker worse in tracking than an old iPhone especially with this price tag? Is a hardware or rather a software problem? Thanks. Andrew
