Error uploading GPX

I can’t upload a GPX file through Connect, it just gives an error message. I tried to upload the same GPX file to my Suunto Movescount and it worked fine.
‘Does anyone know of a Garmin server issue today?

Had a Fenix 5+ for a few weeks now and growing very tiresome of Garmin :o(
  • Garmin Connect doesn't like GPX files without timestamps.

What does that mean? I'm having a similar problem with a TCX file from a Forerunner 50. The file imports to Strava and MapMyRide without any issue but Garmin Connect gives an error.

Given that the file has been produced by a Garmin device and transferred to my computer via Garmin software I'm a little confused as to why it seems to be incompatible with the Garmin on-line service!

Has something changed recently because it used to work fine?

    Thanks
  • I don't know about any potential causes for problems with TCX files, maybe except some intermittent Garmin Connect server issues, but going back to GPX files, one potential reason for unsuccessful import is that some GPX files have course points without any timestamps attached to them. This is perfectly fine, but Garmin Connect does not like such files. A workaround could be putting the file through some conversion tool that would add fake timestamps to course points.

But since I haven't seen the actual GPX file that causes OP's issues, this is only speculation. There could be other reasons as well.
