Edge Explore 820 - Mile Notifier

I've recently bought an Explore Edge 820 and overall very pleased with it. One little feature that I think would be great is with the mile notifier. I get a beep every mile which is great but all it shows on screen for a few seconds is 1.0 mile. Couldn't it show the actual mileage at that point of the ride? Particularly when navigating where you don't necessarily have any live stats showing, it would be great to see the actual mileage and maybe even ride time displayed on the pop-up.
