First Day of the Week Changed on Reports

I've always used Monday as the First Day of the Week. Last week I noticed it seemed to be starting my Week on Sunday. On the web, on the mobile app, and on my 920XT, Monday is set, but when I run the progress report on "This Week" it's using Sunday. I've tried to change it to other days to see if it changes the progress report, and seems to have no effect. Anyone encounter this?

I can confirm that. I set Monday as the first day of the week, but the running report seems to ignore it. Any help?

  • Are you really speaking about the Progress Summary Report? I use Monday as the first day of week too, so I tried running this report for the last week (this week just started 50 minutes ago, so no data for this week), and the report shows the correct sums for all the days of the last week, from Monday to Sunday. However, this report does not show any individual days, just the weekly sums, so I had to sum up the distancess of all days manually to verify whether they match the report.

Or do you speak about another report? If so, can you post a screenshot to demonstrate the issue?

Actually, I was speaking about the reports showing the last seven days or the last 4 weeks on a graph, e.g., connect.garmin.com/.../last_seven_days.
I have a screenshot of my current last-seven-days' running pace:

Report 4 - Running - Last seven days

Today is Saturday and I recorded a running activity today, which you can see on https://connect.garmin.com/modern/report/16/running/last_seven_days:

Report 16 - Running - Last seven days

The same issue occurs with connect.garmin.com/.../last_seven_days, https://connect.garmin.com/modern/report/13/cycling/last_seven_days, ... Cycling and the last-seven-days report are just examples - other activities show the same problem.

It seems that these "dotted graphs" have a shifted x-axis such that todays' activities don't show up.

    Can you confirm that?

Btw. thanks for the link to the Progress Summary Report! I didn't know that one.

  • Hm, that sounds like a totally different problem than you originally wrote:

I set Monday as the first day of the week, but the running report seems to ignore it.

The last 7 days report indeed completely ignores what day you've selected as the start of the week, since as its name suggests, it should report the data of the last seven days, and not for the current week. It means seven days back from today. So if you run the report on Wednesday, it will start at the previous Tuesday, regardless if you chose Saturday, Sunday or Monday as your starting day.

However, it is true that some of the graphs on the last 7 day report show an extra day at the beginning, meaning the X axis has 8 days instead of 7 days. The fact that the data for the current day is missing, may be related, but can be perhaps also intentional - in some cases data for the incomplete day could skew the statistics. I'd rather tell that it is indeed an unintentional bug, though. At the 4 weeks report, it seems to be even worse - not only the current day is missing, but also the data of the first week.

You may want to report the bug to Garmin Support
