Add trend line to weight graph

It would be nice to see a trend line on the web dashboard's weight graph.

Day-to-day weight measurements are a bit noisy. Having a trend line makes it easy to see if I'm still under the trend and making progress toward my weight goal or if I've plateaued.

For years I've used a spreadsheet with a 10% smoothing curve as described here:
https://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/subsection1_4_1_0_1.html

The smoothing curve is my preferred method, but something like a 7-day average would be fine too.
  • I would add:
Show a target trend line for a weight goal, starting at the weight and date for the day where the goal was created and ending at the target weight and date.

This will make weight goals usable for something. Right now the weight goal is just a horisontal line with absolutely no feedback on your success in reaching that goal. But with the target trend line it will be easy to see if you are behind or ahead of reaching your target date.

This will of course require the user to also input a target date. As of now, Garmin Connect does not ask for this information when the user creates a weight goal.
  • Oh yes please. For me, an MVP would be just a single number display, being the slope (weight change per week, positive or negative) of the 30 day linear regression of the weight measurements. Very simple.

    For extra points:
    * display both 30 day and 90 day slopes
    * an actual line on the graph
    * date where the trend line will intersect the target weight
