Improve contact/group/user search

Currently, when searching for either contacts or groups, a user has to enter search terms, then select a potential group/contact and then, if the object selected is not the desired group/contact, the user must go back and enter the search terms all over again. This is laborious and frankly, ridiculous. I would like to see an improvement to the group/contact search feature that returning to the list of search results without having to enter the search terms every single time.
