On the Vivosmart 3 the battery status icon on the time screen is too small to be useful, and it takes about 10 clicks and 5 swipes to see the details.
The battery status should be conveniently accessible in the other interfaces. I have searched the Connect app long and hard without finding it. Nor have I been able to find that information in the browser interface or the standalone PC software.
Just saw some information about the Huawei Band 2 Pro and I'm increasingly convinced I made a huge mistake by buying the more expensive Garmin. I'm trying to reserve judgment, but if the Garmin also turns out to have a short lifetime, then there will be no way in Hades that I would consider buying another. Right now I think that means my rubber bands wrapped around the poorly designed clasp had better keep the thing from getting lost, and my sentiments are so negative that I probably wouldn't spend more than 10 minutes looking for it. I'm already at the level of warning other people against buying this device if they notice and ask about it.
I do think it is gathering a lot of interesting data, though there are flaws that should be addressed. For example, the REM sleep is often erroneous at the end. If a dream wakes me up, I will often lie still for a few more minutes, awake, but not sleeping. Then when I do get up the device will show REM all the way until when I actually got up. I've already confirmed this behavior on several occasions.
