Maps missing from mobile app and website

My Fenix 3 HR has been working with my Samsung Galaxy S7 reliabily up until the last 2 months. Now, I cannot get maps for any of my activities The mobile app, the website, and other .Fit file viewers don't generate maps. How can I get them enabled again and how can I recover maps from fit files?
Checking some old threads, this seems to be fixed for most folks with soft reset (turn Off/On). Fenix 3 HR - No Maps No Bike GPS Data nor Map Data for Running
Thanks for the reply. I think my issue is with a faulty GPS chip. I realize now that I am not getting a signal lock anymore. I will try a few more things and follow up with Garmin I guess.
