fit file too big.

i had an issue while overseas where the edge 1030 recorded a ride but wouldn't upload to GCM. once i got home i hooked it up to the pc and still couldn't upload the file to GC. it some how made the file 31mb and GC limit is 25mb. but since that ride wouldn't load up the following rides wouldn't load either. luckily i could manually upload to strava.
so why is it limited?
and why did the 1030 made such a large file for a days ride.

I just had the same problem. 49mi ride created a 30+mb file. Any solution here?

without the file, no solution

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum, or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

and do not forget when possible to call Garmin Support and tell them about the 1030 and big files

surely after a year they should have resolved this "feature"

I was able to download the FitFileRepairTool tool and it was able to repair, bringing the size down dramatically. Thanks for the advice. Will let Garmin know.
