Show EPOC, Current Training Load, Optimal Training Load-Range in each Activity.

Hi,

You have good data from Firstbeat algorithms, but you are really hiding those pretty important details.

Yes, you have Training Load (btw, how many can find it in Connect as it's hidden in reports that talk about training status), and even mobile it's pretty hidden, more logical on there. That should have widget for My Day in mobile and in the web it should be somehow in every activity. (And on the subject, app has performance stats, but not the web, why?)

Like showing how much of EPOC did that activity cause, what's the Training Load after the activity and is that low, optimal or high.

I have looked for EPOC in Garmin Connect without being able to find it. If Training Load is the sum of all EPOCs in the previous 7 days, one would assume that the EPOC for each activity was visible to the user.
  • The activity FIT does not contain EPOC or recovery time. I therefore conclude that these are calculated on device in post processing and are recorded on the device (not in the activity). Training Load could be a calculation with two or more parameters such as Time and number of heart beats. Anyhow it it Firstbeat technology.
  • yes, that's a problem with garmins.  training load is calculated only on devices (and not on every device). so it's possible that you have 2 (or more devices) and you have Training Load only from one ...  (so trainings from other are not counted).

which is completely STUPID, as servers (Connect) has exactly the same data as device.

No, they don't. A primary role in the VO₂max calculation play the HRV (Heart Rate Variability) data, and that's not being uploaded to the server (better told, only in a very limited way, useless for the VO₂max calculation and for other algorithms using it live on the device). They would have to resort to alternate estimates w/o the use of HRV, or transferring the full HRV data to the server (which would represent rather huge volumes). Both of it would require a serious redesign of all the system.

    Hi everyone,

I just got a Fenix 5 plus and when I use it for example on bike, after saving, the epoc ligne is visible but empty. It seems it doesn't calculate it. does someone no how to fix this?

    Thanks a lot
