Cut and / or edit tracks

Sometimes it happens, that I have forgoten to stop the recording.
Then I get a too long track in connect, because the vivo tracks my walking after the biking.
In such cases I have to cut the track in a separate tool.
It would be very very nice if this can be do directly in connect.

Can you implement this in the application?
  • Cropping your data seems like a very basic feature, very much needed!
  • Same problem here, it will be nice to have it.

I forgot to end my activity when I crossed a marathon finish line yesterday, and the map/track includes my walks to bag check and a hotel. I'd really like to remove those waypoints and Quick Connect should offer the functionality

What tool did you use to edit, and can Quick Connect re-import the new data?
  • prometh you can crop Garmin activity files with the section remover at https://www.fitfiletools.com/

    1) Open the activity in the Garmin Connect website, click on the gear icon and select Export Original -- this gives you a FIT file.
    2) Use the FIT file tools to crop your file.
    3) Delete the original activity in GC. This is important because GC will not let you reimport the edited file otherwise.
    4) Reimport the edited activity in GC: Upper-right hand corner Cloud icon > Import Data
  • This suggestion is one that comes up the most with our training group. I wish there was a way to drag back (edit) the time of an activity until you see the correct stopping point on the map in Garmin Connect. I can't tell you how many times paddled freeway speeds on some of my activities!

Would love this. Would also love the ability to correct distances. Garmin has a disclaimer that the distance recorded by GPS is not 100% accurate. I've ran half-marathons & marathons and had Garmin show an incorrect distance when I crossed the finish line. Today I ran a half-marathon and Garmin had me at 13 miles when I crossed the finish line.
