Wrong Lactate Threshold

Former Member

Hello everyone,

After some of my runs, the watch was detecting unusual lactate thresholds. I've always had a threshold pace just above 5m per km. All of the sudden this got bumped up to 6m per km. Also the LT HR dropped significantly. This was also confirmed by the guided test.
I can't believe it is correct. I generally run 20km at about 5:30m per km. How can I have a threshold pace of 6?
Is anyone else having the same problem?

Thanks,
Gio
  • Trippy is right. If you just had a software update to GCM or a firmware update to your watch, it is not uncommon for all of the zone settings to get completely messed up.

Alternatively, If there has been a large shift in weather (i.e. it has gotten significantly hotter or more humid) you could see a legitimate lowering due to your body having a harder time coping with the conditions. A full minute increase seems like a far too big change for it to be due to this though.
