Let me add a regular "day off", cycle days, etc.

Most people who train with a coach do so on a six day schedule with one day of the week always completely off. Would be really nice if I could set that day in GC so that it didn't set such a lofty steps goal on the day off. I know you don't have to meet your goals every day, but it would also be nice if cycle days had a cycling goal rather than a steps goal. Steps are a nice default for people who don't train other sports, but for those of us that do, it's kind of annoying, honestly.

  • The goal of 10,000 (or however many) steps each day is not a training goal per say, but purportedly a generic daily goal for healthy living, and you don't get days off from that. Like you said, you don't have to meet your step goal every day if you don't want to, and don't have to try to achieve recognition for unbroken 30- or 60-day streaks (corresponding to badges) if you choose to have a lazy day now and then.
  • Linked to that request, it would be nice to have an option to register sick days or that kind of "special day" in the agenda.

Loving the idea of booking in cycling days and have a goal set by Garmin based on a course, or manually inputted distance, or time etc. I may actually use the planner function on Garmin connect!

It would definitely improve the value of training plans as they will adapt to you by giving SMART goals for current and planned activities!

Having a "day off" function would also be good for tracking recovery, even if the steps aren't reduced, Garmin could do something with the corresponding data, such as rest "insights".

Might post this in another thread... But wouldn't it be awesome to get real-time feedback on your cycling and be told by your Garmin that you can push yourself a little harder as it's "big effort day" and also have updates to tell you to take it easy on "small effort days" or if you're burning out before the end of the ride (based on distance input or the course attached).

Fingers corssed we some something devloped but for now, keep it rouleur!
