Garmin Connect / MyFitnessPal calorie adjustment

Hi,

I have GC and MyFitnessPal integrated and working beautifully together, but am having an issue with how my running workouts are being credited to me, calorie-wise.

When I complete a run, its calories burned show up in MFP as expected. But in addition, there's a second exercise entry for Garmin Connect Calorie Adjustment, based on the number of steps I've taken. But most of these steps were already counted as part of the running workout whose calories have already been credited to me.

So it's like I'm double-dipping, or receiving credit for these steps twice.

MyFitnessPal is assigning the same calorie value to the run as GC did, but GC is still deciding to credit extra calories because of 7,000-ish steps (which I've already received calorie credit for in the running workout entry).

So my question is... Is this an actual mistake, double-crediting me for steps taken as part of an already credited workout, or is there something else that GC and MFP are basing this credit on?

Today it's just 170-ish extra calories, but some days it's several hundred.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed!

That makes a lot of sense, thanks! I initially told MFP I'm completely sedentary, so it would allow me a very minimal number of calories. So you're saying that if GC reports otherwise, MFP adds an adjustment. Very cool feature!
