I moved from flat land IL to the hills and mountains of Arizona. I would love to see a %Grade as a 5th graph along with Elevation, heart rate, speed and cadence. Is there an option somewhere to turn that on? I rode up a 16% grade this weekend. I'd like to keep track of that better. Thanks!
Yes I would like to see how grade correlates with speed and heart rate for both cycling and running. The chart line would need to be smoothed so it doesn't jump around too much.
I live in Colorado and think this would be a nice feature as well. Grade changes so quickly that a graph could be of little value as it would be a set of spikes or would be so smoothed out that the information looks appealing but is inaccurate enough to actually be meaningless. Presenting it as a number while the cursor line is slid across the graphs would be effective and give good info. This is what Strava and other sites do.
For those looking for this info today, link your Garmin Connect account to a Strava account (free) in the Account Settings and your activities will automatically upload to Strava as well. Then you can see the graphs on Strava and Garmin. On Strava you can see the grade as Strava derives it (don't know if that is numerically off the data or from topo maps or other stored info). Strava a number of nice features that Garmin would do well to implement such as ability to zoom in on a segment of the ride, ride comparisons, etc..
I also live in Colorado and would like this report feature. In addition, I would like a additional report for elevation gain, similar to mileage, calories, etc. Accumulated elevation gain is one of my main metrics.
