MFP Garmin Calorie Adjustment Issue

Former Member
Former Member

Example Issue:
Go for a run on 5/28/18 - start GPS running timer on Forerunner 630 watch @ 11:57 pm 5/28/18
End run on 5/29/18 at ~ 12:27 am

Problem:
MFP (and Garmin connect) now shows 30min of running on 5/28/18 under cardio activities for 555 calories AND a 448 "Garmin Calorie Adjustment" for 5/29/18 (??). This appears to be due to it somehow considering the ~27 min of activity that occurred after midnight on 5/29/18.

How can I have 558 calories burned on 5/28/18 and also 448 calories as a "Garmin Calorie Adjustment" for 5/29/18 when I've done no other activity at all (zero) except the running that began at 11:57pm on 5/28/18 and ended at 12:27am 5/29/18?

Why it's important:
The major issue is that instead of having a total of 558 calories burned on 5/28/18 or 5/29/18 (doesn't matter which one), I now have a total of 1006 calories burned, 558 from 5/28/18, 448 from 5/29/18, and I simply have done no other activities whatsoever - there is no way I could have burned over 1000 calories for either 5/28 or 5/29. No way. 475-575 is the normal calorie range I would see for 30min of running on any other day where I didn't cross the midnight timeframe.

My hypothesis:
Ok, all I did is start an exercise at 11:57 pm to run for 30min, last night, on 5/28/18 and then somehow I got the running activity in MFP, PLUS a "Garmin Calorie Adjustment" for TODAY (?). This is apparently due to the 27min of running that occurred after midnight (when 5/29/18 began). This seems to happen anytime I do activities that cross over midnight to the next day. Therefore I believe that the Garmin FR630 is recording both activity for the previous day (pre-midnight) and also counting all the "activity" (~27min post-midnight) for the following day.
