235 connected but not syncing

Thanks for any help.

The Garmin Connect app on my Samsung Note8 and my Forerunner appear to have had a falling out at some point in the last 12-24hrs, and, while they claim to still be connected, they are not sync'ing.

This is especially galling as I just put in an unusually filthy amount of effort into a erg session, motivated almost exclusively by the bragging rights my near-cardiac incident was going to afford me with my equally at-risk drinking pals.

What do I do?

With the phone, I've tried switching it off and back on again. With the watch, I profess I have no idea how this is done, and I'm petrified I'll lose all evidence of my lung-bloodying endeavour.
