Merging 2 files in Garmin Connect

Hi,
I accidentally stopped & saved my multisport activity on a race at the weekend ad had to start a new activity. How can I merge them? I've tried fittools but it doesn't seem to merge the 2 activities for some reason - I'm probably missing something small. Any suggestions?

    hi Graham,

Attach the two files in a reply with this post, or if they are too big then get yourself a free Dropbox account, upload the files to there and then share the link.

Will see what I can do.

    cheers

    Hi Mike,
I have a similar problem. Lately when I have had a coffee brake during my ride Edge 810 will not any more recognize my heart rate transmitter when I return to my bike (+ my meter) and would like to continue my ride. Meter has been running all the time during the brake. Only way to get heart rate readings again is to switch off the Edge and on again. But then I will have multiple fit files.

I would like to merge those into a single file.

Any ideas why my Edge 810 has stopped recognizing my heart rate transmitter if there is a few minutes brake in the connection between Edge and the transmitter? Do I have too many activities stored in the unit (currently 195)?

    hi hstahl,

I don't have an 810 but I do have an 800 and I know that I can 'search' for my heart rate monitor if my 800 'loses' the connection. I don't have my 800 with me at the moment so I can't walk you thru the steps I use but I am pretty sure you can do something similar with the 810.

And yes - I don't keep any more than a months worth of completed and uploaded activities on my device - all the others are sitting in an archive folder on my computer.

    cheers

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your reply!

Perhaps I explained my problem a bit poorly (I'm non-native English speaking person). I surely know the menu steps how to search the heart rate transmitter in my 810. Problem is that 810 indicates that it can't find the transmitter once the connection has been lost. So far the only way to have heart rate readings to work again is to switch off the 810 and back on again.

I did the same thing - now I have only those two problematic fit files left in my device which together cover my last ride. I wonder does anyone have a tool to merge two fit files into one file? I have managed to install the Fit File Repair Tool software into my windows machine but sadly with the Demo License it's quite useless.

    Thanks
    Heikki

    hi Heikki,

Attach the two files in a reply or share the link to a file sharing service (Dropbox is free) and I will merge them for you - I have a full copy of FFRT.

    cheers
    Mike
