Add activity type?

How do I add an activity type? All my activities say "running," and I can't figure out how to change the activity type to "cycling.," or how to add cycling to my activities. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  • Which Garmin fitness/activity tracking device model are you using?

Generally speaking, if you're using a device model that supports different activity profiles (or ‘apps’, as I think they're referred to for the vivo family of devices), you'd pick the right profile (e.g. ‘Bike’ as opposed to ‘Run’) on the device before you start recording a timed activity with it. If your particular device model does not support cycling, you can change the activity type of the record in Garmin Connect (online through the web interface, or using a Garmin Connect Mobile app), once the device has been synced and the record uploaded to GC.

My device is a Forerunner 15. It does not support running.

ASmugDill: I got it! Thanks for your help. I had tried that, but I stupidly did not realize that there were more options visible by scrolling down. :(

Are you sure? The Forerunner 15 Owner's Manual suggests otherwise.

All the same, I'm glad to hear you can now achieve the outcome you wanted.
