Course-level analysis

I assumed that one of the reasons someone would identify the course associated with an activity is to get a cross-activity analysis of the course. That is, I want to see summary stats for all the times I rode Course A. If this isn't available, why would I bother to associate an activity with a course? Is this a feature that's coming?
  • It was available. They appear to have jazzed up the 'advanced' selection and left it off. Worryingly I noticed that if you extract the data to csv from the activities view the 'Course' column is actually missing from the file. I've just checked a number of bike rides I've made over a number of years that were tagged with the same 'Course' and they are no longer tagged. They have actually deleted the data from their database. Looks like I need to find a safer haven for my data.
  • Just had a look on Strava. They do have routes but don't associate with activities which is why I've always used Garmin for that functionality. However Strava approaches this differently. You simply create a private segment for the whole route and the system will generate stats automatically. Apparently it should apply this historically. We'll see!
  • Yeah, I pretty much gave up on Strava due to their lack of a CSV export feature.
  • RobOwen: Is that a premium Strava feature? I'm not seeing the associated choices in the standard product.
