how to get this a badge MTB ride?

Hello,
I have Forerunner 645 and I can not get this badge .....
After the end of the training I change my ride in Garmin Connect to "mountain bike ride", but this badge I never not get :-(

PS: how to get Badge gravel ride?

Garmin fan badge I did not get. In the past, I had two devices in the Garmin Connect - Forerunner 35 and 645, but this badge I never not get :-(

  • My wife got this badge yesterday with her 935. Pretty certain that the only thing she did was to select Mountain Biking as an activity on her 935.

Is than an option on the 645? I can understand GC not awarding the badge after a manual change. After all, that then makes it much easier to game the system doesn't it?
  • Unfortunately, the Forerunner 645 does not have a MTB profile. 645 have only profiles for cycling and cycling indoor :-(
and ......badge gravel ride how to get?
  • Some badges can be obtained only by using a device with specific features. I'm not sure about the gravel badge, but it's possible that you can't have it with your 645.

    Precisely.

Jara_drtic, there is no inherent promise of ‘equal opportunity’ to all registered Garmin Connect users that they could earn all the badges (or even just the ones that they care about) in the new regime. Some Garmin device models do not support VO[sub]2[/sub]max estimates, and so their users (assuming they have no other registered Garmin devices that support the feature) simply have no means to earn the Well-Oiled Machine badge. Same goes for the Highly Improving badge; some device models do not support assessment of Aerobic Training Effect.

badge gravel ride how to get?
Acquire, register and use a Garmin device model that can record timed activities with a mountain bike profile, or wait.

If you look in the badges not awarded thread, Joey from Garmin has said that this is being looked into as a lot of the wearable devices don't actually cover activities such as cycling
  • New to Garmin devices. Just got Fenix 5s, found i could add MTB ride (and walking rather than tracking my commute as a 'hike') to my watch through the Garmin Connect App by clicking on the watch at the top of the app and selecting 'Activities and Applications' but no option for Gravel ride.

Had a thought but not yet time to try it out - create a route as a gravel ride on the Garmin site. Save the route to your device and then activate it when you go out. This may force it to log the activity as a gravel ride rather than just a bike ride.

  • I checked some short time ago, and to get the badge - just change category, after syncing normal cycling activity.

  • Login on connect.garmin.com.

On the left shoot out pane choose "Activity" or similar (sorry - translating from Danish and don't know the exact wording :-) )

Schroll down to your Mountain Bike activity and select it by clicking on the headline.

Once you are in the overview of the activity. On your upper left - left of your name - there is a small triangle. It is a drop-down, which let's you select a number of activity types.

Click it and schroll down and select "Mountainbike". Voila. You now have a Mountainbike activity, no matter which unit you have recorded it with :-)

It works for a lot of other badges too :-)
