Sync Calendar with MacOS Calendar

Hello,
For over a few years I'm syncing my GC calendar with MacOS Calendar. Great! But since April 4th 2018 sync does not work anymore. Error message: The downloaded data from https://connect.garmin.com/modern/proxy/calendar-service/export/51............... is not valid. My calendar in GC is public and I renewed the link in Calendar of the Mac.
Does anyone know what can be the cause of this problem. (MacOS Sierra 10.12.6)

I added the calendar to Google Calendar, made it public and then added it to my Calendar app on MacOS.

bastiaan.c, Does this still work for you? I have tried to do this recently and I'm getting none of my workouts in Google Calendar.

I just add it again directly without the Google calendar in-between.
