Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

Thank you for the continued discussion and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

06/19/2018: A new update has been posted here.

  • Hi, today I did indoor climbing and didn't get Druid Arch (735 ft), its probably due to units conversion (735ft = 224m, I did Elev Gain = 231m, Ascent = 247m). Can you please check it?

I can only repeat what I wrote you already in the other thread. Nobody from Garmin will answer you here. If my answer did not satisfy you, you'll need to contact Garmin Support directly, not here on the user forum.

My original comment in the thread New Badges was:

"I believe Garmin has set a wrong threshold at this one. Probably a few meters higher than it should be. There are already several other users who did not get the Druid Arch badge, because they ended the activity just after reaching the threshold. I did significanlty more, and got the badge instantly, so the wrongly set threshold seems to be the only explanation."

So, unless you want to wait that Garmin fixes it, you best repeat the climb, adding a few floors more. As a side effect it will improve your fitness.

I've found this thread later and I thought this is official garmin where you report not awarded badges to fix it when it's smtg wrong..

I'm fine with your answer and of course I can repeat this activity, but when it'll happen for 1500 feet I'd not appreciate it :)

Your fitness will boost! Slight smile Just make it always with a sufficient margin. Being too close to the threshold is risky also if your barometric altimeter does not work well, so better doing a few floors more, than being sorry later.

Yes, originally this thread was launched by the Garmin staff, but they do not intervene since a long time any more.

  • Just make it always with a sufficient margin

I don't agree with that, if badge says 735 ft = 225 m its rather clear for me (for marathon I need to run how then?). I can only depend on watch total ascent field and in this case the margin was sufficient enough. For me its a bug..

  • Yes, I got it. But I had to synchronize the watch and Garmin Connect a couple of times before I got it.

  • I don't agree with that

You do not need to agree, but if you do not want to accept the advice I suggested, you won't get the badge, unless you contact Garmin directly and have them fix it. Personally, I think that running couple of floors more than the margin tells, won't kill anyone (oppositely, it only makes good to your health and fitness). And it is certainly a much faster solution than arguing with Garmin support whether you deserved the badge or not, and waiting for the fix.

So of course, it is your choice whether you agree or not with my advice, but that's all I can offer you.

Sure, I always appreciate your advices and it's nice to have them here.

you contact Garmin directly and have them fix it

..and I'll because it can not be like that you need some margin (than it'd be nice to know it) especially I don't like so much running up and down Smiley

..and i did, I followed the field 'ascent total' and I did +20m more.

  • Hi,

I am in the progress of working towards the badge process for the Ride 100km challenge https://connect.garmin.com/modern/badge-challenge/018DBD54B3B34005A9794691BF8D7E3F

Completing this mostly on my indoor TacX trainer and importing the GPX output. None of the miles/km's have been counted from the last 3 activities towards the challenge.

    Please advise

    Thanks

Imported or manually entered Activities do not count for Badges. You have to record the activity with your Garmin device.
