Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

06/19/2018: A new update has been posted here.

  • It would be nice if when you selected the badge, it would give a quick couple sentence description of the requirements. Would take staff less then an hour to complete all badges.


    It already does, but in a misleading way:

    5 mile ride - Ride 5 miles in a single activity (but if you ride more than that & less than 10 (the next distance badge) you won't get the 5 mile badge) :mad:ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1339207.png

    I was not awarded a badge there, I tried to share my activity a few different ways however it has not registered at all. Details are:

    Maybe this is a bit of a stretch but I was doing a hike with a friend of mine. Over the course of the walk he was able to clock up enough steps to get the 50k badge as well. I was using walking poles and as a result ended up with just over half the steps. Is it possible to get these badges as well.

    I ran the Disney Goofy Challenge on 6-7-Jan-18 and haven't gotten the half- and marathon badges - is there a cutoff on the accomplishments? Also, it seemed that I earned a slew of badges all at once (the relaunch, I suppose?) and some of those that I've earned showed up erratically and then disappeared. How do I get the outstanding earned badges? See below. Thank you.

    I was able to get credit for past activities by exporting them, and then uploading them again.
  • this didn't work for me at all. could you elaborate a bit for, which format did you choose for the export/import? original fit file?

    This has worked a few times for me now, and in some cases on activities that were over 2 years old.
    • Export using the "Original Activity" option. This will download a .ZIP file containing the .FIT file you originally uploaded.
    • Delete the activity you just exported.
    • Import the .FIT file.
    I have used this technique on both cycling and running activities ranging from the previous day's activities to some from 2016. Hope this helps.

    I originally didn't receive the Yin Yang badge a while ago when a ride was 50/50, however I received the badge last night.
    I couldn't see that there had been any bug fixes in the updated thread topic from the 20th. and to be honest I can't be bothered to look through the entire thread to see if it has been mentioned.
    I thought I would post a link to the activity incase it helps @garmin-joe
