Garmin Marathon 2018 Badge

Hi All,

so with the new badges (and me being one to collect things) I saw there was a badge for running Garmin Marathon 2018 on April 21. I am not in the US so difficult for me to get there. Can anyone confirm if the badge is linked only to that run or if I can run a marathon distance on the day and still get it?

I don't think anyone (even Garmin staff!) can confirm, since there are reported cases whether other badges have not been awarded even though the stated criteria have been satisfied to the letter, e.g.

If your focus is especially on whether you will get the badge if you do X, Y and Z – as opposed to getting someone to review the ‘business’ rules or code in the software to check the implementation before doing X, Y and Z – then the only way for you or anyone to know is to actually suck it and see.

For the Garmin Marathon Badge we will use start and end location as criteria for this particular badge. So runs that are outside the location criteria will not cause the badge to be awarded.

We are actively working to resolve issues related other badges not being awarded as expected.

There aren't any confirmed details, but there are ongoing discussions about continuing to add/update the badge offerings. We appreciate the feedback and will pass along the suggestions for globalized badges for specific events.
