Friends!

Hi!
I just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone would like to be friends. :) I looked all over the forums, but I only found one that was 3 years old and specifically Vivofit. If my thread needs to be moved, or if there is already something like this, I totally understand! Just steer me in the right direction.

I'm a brand new Garmin user with a Vivoactive HR. I don't know anyone else with a Garmin, so I'd really like to make some "connections" for challenges. I just came from Fitbit and I really miss the community aspect already.

If you'd like to add me, my GC username is just "K8"
Thanks!

Hi Welcome, i'm newbie too here, you said that you come from Fitbit, what makes me you think that you want to change sides, i mean from Fitbit to Garmin. Personally, like everybody else I think, before i purchase something, i read review, go to their community and read the particular product about the problem, etc, then i landed here to this forum

Hi Sheldon! I had a Fitbit, but it died when I forgot to take it off at a water park. :p So, I probably wouldn't have "switched" if my Fitbit still worked. After my Fitbit died, I was diagnosed with a heart condition, and my doctor recommended that I get an accurate heart rate monitor. After doing a TON of research, I found that Garmin trackers are WAY more accurate than Fitbit for tracking heart rate. However, Fitbit was far more accurate at sleep tracking, so it all depends on what you are looking for. Fitbit also has a more vibrant community aspect to it. But the heart rate accuracy is what drew me to Garmin. And of course, there are a ton of other things that I have come to love about it.
Edit: I also should have said that I decided to go with Garmin because of the ANT+ pairing capability. I wanted the wrist band with the most accurate heart rate monitoring, but it also had to be able to pair with a chest strap, because wrist monitors will never be as accurate as chest straps.

I think i added you but i can't search just for 2 characters so i searched for your name ;)

Oh! That is good to know. Thanks! I just changed my username so that it is more than 2 letters. It is now K8theGr8. I didn't get any notifications, though, so I'm not sure it worked. Just curious, Where did you find my name?
