Display problem when using Garmin Connect on my laptop with Google Chrome
Former Member
When I use Garmin Connect in Google Chrome on my Windows 8.1 laptop, I encounter a number of problems. Firstly, there are only 2 boxes (Devices, Gear) taking up the width of the screen, rather than 3 (Devices, Gear, Activity). Next, I cannot find the RH scroll bar, altho if I put the cursor to anywhere on the extreme right of the screen and click, it appears! I can go to Training and Courses (on the LHS) but if I click on this, I am told I have 254 courses, but it won't show me any of them! I can create a new course, although the various boxes tend to crowd each other out and the space is consequently very cramped, and also I cannot give the course a name, nor can I add an average speed! If I use Internet Explorer on the laptop, I have none of these problems; if I use my Windows 7 PC tower in Google Chrome, I have no problems. This problem in Chrome only started a few weeks ago. The thing is that I normally only use my laptop and I normally only use Chrome - I don't want to have to use Internet Explorer! I realise that the problem almost certainly lies with my laptop, rather than with the Garmin website, but someone out there must be able to help me! (Garmin themselves cannot, which was hugely disappointing from a tech firm).
I uninstalled Garmin Express from my machine, then reinstalled it (it didn't achieve anything), but I hadn't considered reloading Chrome again - that's what you mean, isn't it? If I were to do this, would I lose all my saved stuff, like bookmarks, etc?
Flash plugins? They are Adobe programs, aren't they? Do we need them to make Garmin Connect work? I see that I have Adobe Flash Player 28NPAPI amongst the programs listed in Control Panel - twice (downloaded in Jan and Feb this year). Also Adobe AIR, Adobe Shockwave Player and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Are any of these plugins?
Thanks

PS I resisted Windows 10 when it was offered to me (many times over a period of some weeks, but then they gave up!)
