Forerunner 920XT v. 9.70 software NOT SAVING workout info, goes into power save mode!

After following the prompt on my Forerunner 920XT to upgrade to the next version of software (9.70), I immediately had problems. The watch goes into power saving mode after being in my workout activity for only a few minutes. It does NOT save the workout! I was able today to keep it from going into the power saving mode by pressing the button at the bottom left with the 3 dots each time it notified me that it was about to go into power saving mode, and while it DID continue to show me information, it DID NOT SAVE any of the information. I need to move off of this version of the software, either by going back to the previous one, or going forward to a new one. Help please!
  • If the device goes into powersaving mode it becomes a resumable activity. So, waking up the watch, should leave you at the Resume/Save/Delete option. You did not get that?

Please explain why you use the 3 dots to keep awake?

When the watch went into power saving mode it stopped displaying activity - which I needed to watch my current mph -- and it stopped saving activity - which meant that I had no information to save to my Garmin Connect record. Bottom line - it needs to stay on task and not go into power saving mode while I'm on activity. It performed this operation just fine prior to the upgrade. I need to either go back to the software version prior to the upgrade or skip the upgrade and go a version beyond 9.70. Version 9.70 does not give me any information to save for evaluation after the activity. I lost an entire weekend of workout records.

    TrippyZ:
Upon waking the watch, I did not get the Resume/Save/Delete option. Upon waking the watch, I did not get any saved activity data. I lost two days of activity information.

I used the 3 dots button only because it seemed to be the only button that kept the power saving mode from activating. I hoped that the information that was displayed would not be lost when the watch went into power saving mode, but even though I was able - on Day 2 - to prevent the watch from going into power saving mode, none of the information displayed was saved for syncing later. I lost two days of information. Day 1 information was lost in power saving mode. Day 2 information was lost without going into power saving mode, by pressing the button with 3 dots.

Please advise how to bypass the 9.70 version. I need to revert to prior version or move forward to next version.
    Thanks
