Horseback riding

Would it be possible to add horseback riding to the choice of activities on the watch (mine is a Vivoactive 3)? It's not possible to create a custom workout that would work, and whilst the name can be changed afterwards in the Connect app, the problem is that it still counts all the horse's steps as your own, which totally messes up step counts. Horseback riding is a very popular sport so I'm surprised it hasn't been added yet.

I couldn't agree more!
What I do now is use the "Other" option and name it as "Equestrian". I added relevant data fields, such as map, speed, distance, time, compass, etc.
But I would love it if Garmin had their own app! It would be cool to have it as a legit entry in Garmin connect, also it would be interesting if Garmin also incorporated new metrics, like detecting if you are cantering, galloping, trotting automatically, based on pattern of movement + speed. Also maybe a feature, for show jumping. That would be nice!
I wish there was a platform where users could communicate with the company, and we get to see user demands come to life.
