Some missing Running Dynamics

Former Member

Hello,

I use a Fenix 3 HR Saphire with the old HRM+ chest strap. However I am lacking some running dynamics. For example i get the ground contact time and vertical Oscilation but I do not get the stride length and % of ground contact time for left and right.. Stride length field always shows . and nothing else.

Fenix 3 bough in Germany and chest strap bought in the UK.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
  • I don't know which model you meant by “the old HRM+ chest strap”. Are you talking about the Garmin HRM-Run?

Ground contact time and vertical oscillation are among the original Running Dynamics metrics. Ground contact time balance, vertical ratio, and real-time stride length are second-generation Running Dynamics metrics. If you have an HRM-Run, then the firmware on it may need to be updated before you can get the second-generation metrics.

You set me on the right path with the hrm run belt update on the chest. Worked like a charm thanks a lot!
  • OT I know, but why is this thread showing zero replies...?
  • Hi folks,

As of today I am seeing the same. The 'Ground Contact Time Balance' shows on the Garmin Connect app, but isn't visible or selectable from the dropdown on the Connect Web Site!

    What's going on?
