Sleep time cannot be corrected

A couple of days ago I started to have a strange Problem. Usualy my fenix 3 HR doesn't properly recognize my sleep times. I don't mind it too much, since I simply correct the values manualy on GCM. Lately though, after I correct the times in GCM, it reverts back to the first values after I sync my fenix again (either via BT or via Wifi, doesn't matter how). Only possible way to keep my values, is to go to GC(M) after midnight and change the values on yesterday's sleep. Those are beingt kept after re-syncing my fenix. It's only todays value that get reverted back.

- tried with GCM on Android - problem persists
- tried with GCM on iOS - problem persists
- tried with GC on the PC (Browser) - problem persists
- tried deleting GCM App and re-installing it - - problem persists
- tried a power-cycle of the watch (and the mobile devices) - - problem persists

Only thing I have not tried yet, is a hard reset of my fenix, and I'm really not willing to do it yet. I don't think it's watch-related anyway, I rather think it has something to do with GC. I also don't think a solution is possible right now so I'm actualy curious to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.
  • It's not the watch. It's Connect that does the calculations. I have had the same issue for quite a while but it seems worse the last few days.
  • I have the the same problem since Sunday (18.02.2018) morning. This seems not to be limited to the Fenix 3 HR (my device) since my Girlfriend has a Vivoactive 3 and suffers the same problem.

As you described, the only thing which works is that you correct the sleeping data of the day earlier. So on Monday morning, I could correct the data from Sunday morning and it kept my changes.

    Best regards
    Christian
  • I guess it's less a calculation proplem than a synching one. As if GC doesn't recognize, that the manual changes on the sleeping times are more recent than the data on the cloud.
Thx for the heads-up guys. Glad I'm not the only one, as it would implied a problem on my hardware.

In the meantime I'll have no choice than to wait for Garmin to solve this.
  • Thx Sam

Does anyone know if Garmin has done some work/update on GC (not GCM) recently?
  • Weird thing is, it happens ( just in the last few days?) in an older version of GCM as well as 4.3? when it didn't happen on the older version before this...strange.
Scorp I've rang Garmin a few times recently, and they said GCM isn't working correctly and are desperately working hard to fix the issues especally for Android users....so fingers crossed they see these threads to.
    All the best...
  • Not sure about GC?
could certainty do with an update.
  • Thx. I wondered because it just started a couple of days ago, without an update to the GCM Apps (last update on iOS was today. Android was on february 08).

In previous versions of GCM for at least 1 year, if the sleep and wake times were both logged before midnight (e.g., sleep 5pm, wake 10pm), I could not correct the sleep times on the Mobile app, but COULD correct it on the web version of Garmin Connect. After correcting on the web version, the correct times would show up on GCM after a watch sync.

Interestingly, if the sleep session registered start of sleep before midnight and wake up after midnight, then I could correct the sleep times on the Mobile app without having to go to the web portal.

With the most recent GCM app update, there is no way to change the sleep and wake times in either the mobile app or web portal.

I just put up a complaint on another thread about this. I have a 735xt and about 2.5 weeks ago I noticed that my sleep data was not syncing with GCM. And, I really want that data. But, I found that if I edit the sleep times in the morning, all the data would show.
However, in the last week or so, I can't even do that, it doesn't recognise any sleep regardless. I have GC on android, I hope they fix it soon.
