Personal records editing

Hello,

I am not sure if this is right place, but I found out that garmin took out possibility to manualy enter or edit personal records. Do somebody know about this step? I do not understand why they did it? Thanks.
  • I can still assign manually an activity as PR by selecting "Set as PR" from the activity screen.
  • @Dajko84:
    • You can choose not to accept a new PR submitted by your Garmin wearable device to Garmin Connect.
    • You can create a manual activity in Garmin Connect, and then manually set it as the/a particular PR. You can even send that ‘new’ PR back to your Garmin wearable device, if that model supports PR detection.
    • You can edit a timed activity record that was uploaded by your Garmin wearable device to Garmin Connect, and then manually set it as the/a particular PR. You can even send that ‘new’ PR back to your Garmin wearable device, if that model supports PR detection.
  • Thank you for answer ASmugDill. But time editing is useless if you run f.e.13 km and made new record for 10 km. I have tried also set manually aded activity as PR (Swimming), but this option was not available. Anyway, now it is less user firendly (for me).

I tried that when a recent century included a personal best 40K effort. But when I try to "set as PR", it sets the time as the time of the century, not the time of the best 40K in the century.
  • Yes, that's how it works. Records constituting a fragment of an activity can only be set by a compatible watch.
  • BootheelBiker, Garmin Connect does not analyse your uploaded/imported activity records in any meaningful way, and is certainly not the tool for drill-down analysis of individual activities after the fact. There are no doubt multiple other tools, platforms and services out there someone could employ for that purpose.

However, Garmin Connect will allow you to manually enter what you think is the PR time corresponding to the best 40km; in other words, you can damn well do the analysis (manually, or with some external tool unrelated to Garmin Connect) and then tell it the result, just to put it on record against your account.
