630- pace on watch vs average pace on website

Hi- When I go for a run my field is set with pace and average pace. So I completely understand the difference between the 2 while I am looking at my watch as I run. Where I get confused is, say I do intervals. I warm up a few miles then I run .37 miles (1000m) maybe 5 times. When I look at the activity on my watch under laps, it will show .37 miles 2:13:06, and then when I touch that screen it will show a pace of 6:00, which I believe to be accurate. But when I pull up the same run on my phone app or on the garmin connect website under "splits" it shows 2:13.1 --ok they rounded up 2:13:06 to 2:13:1 no problem there, but there is no "pace" on the spreadsheet, only average pace and average moving pace. I dont want to get into the difference between those two, although I dont understand that either, but I am wondering why the avg. pace shows 5:57 while the watch shows a pace of 6:00, and all the other splits are off a few or more seconds as well. I don't get why the watch shows pace but the website doesn't have pace anyway, but regardless even a few seconds either way can make all the difference so I was just wondering? At first I thought it was because they rounded the time, but that rounding isnt enough to move the pace by 3 seconds.

my 2nd interval showed .37 miles 2:11:19 for 5:55/mile pace. website shows 2:11:2 for 5:52 avg pace and 5:41 avg moving pace, but again I am just more curious for now the pace on watch vs avg pace on website

Thank you
  • Huh? I cannot make any sense of your post. Firstly, one kilometre (which comprises one thousand metres) makes 0.6214 miles, not 0.37 miles. Secondly, 2:13:06 means two hours, thirteen minutes and six seconds, not two minutes and thirteen and six one-hundredths seconds.

OK then. What is the difference between those two data fields on the FR630? We're not talking about whether you know that there simply is a difference in meaning here. What do they actually measure?

my 2nd interval showed .37 miles 2:11:19 for 5:55/mile pace.

    In which data field specifically?

Given that you have not even mentioned (the) Lap Pace (data field) on your FR630, I suspect you really don't understand what you were seeing on the watch.
