Garmin - 935 - Sync data back to watch from web/zwift ?

Hi,

I got a strange one here. I have a garmin 935, and I use zwift. Now when I use zwift I have it setup so that it will post my rides to my garmin connect account and mapmyride.

When I use zwift with my wahoo trainer, I don't actually set my watch to record an "indoor ride", cause zwift is of course recording it for me and posting to my garmin connect account for stats.

But the thing is, because I don't actually use my watch to record the ride, it won't show on my watch that I've done a ride "this week" so to speak, and if I did lets say 10 rides in a week on zwift, it's show as unproductive or no status cause it thinks I haven't done anything.

But if I view my stats thru my garmin connect app on my iPhone or online, it'll show of course.

So, is there anyway to to get your rides to show up on your watch ? Kind of like a backwards sync if htat makes sense ?

Cheers

Simple answer, thanks :-), didn't think so, which sucks.
  • It's not just a problem in a case like yours where you're using a 3rd party app like Zwift. Even for someone who has a device that supports Training Status and Training Load, like your 935, but records their rides with a Garmin Edge bike computer that doesn't it still won't show in your TL and/or TS.

Same goes for having and using more than one watch that supports Vo2Max. The Vo2Max on my 735, which I use for most of my outdoor runs, is 52. While on my VA3 which I use for daily tracking and gym stuff, but rarely for outdoor runs, it's 49. The Connect app will show the result of the last watch I used that generated a Vo2Max number. So went I did a run the other day using the VA3 because the battery was low on the 735 the Vo2Max score went from 48 to 49 and that's what was written to my Connect account overwriting the 52 that has been steady on the 735 for a month.

This is one of the biggest reasons I'm eagerly awaiting the 645 to ship so I can get back to a one watch routine.
  • It should be possible to connect everything to the watch and then broadcast all that stuff to the Zwift/3rd party apps. Zwift is anyways just for fun. :) Any idea if it will be possible to broadcast more data anytime soon? Or is there technical limitations blocking this?
