Training Center - Time based distance interval repeat

I have a ForeRunner 405 and using Training Center 3.6.5. Create the attached workout, when I view the workout on the watch it says repeat step 1 twice and no mention of the 20 minutes. Is this workout possible/correct? I basically want to run for 20 minutes and know how many 1 mile splits and any partial splits I have done in that time. Tried the workout option in Garmin Connect but there is no time based repeat option. Would be grateful for any pointers.

Thanks

It's been a long time since I've used a 405 and Training Center but as far as I know the workout you are trying to create is not possible. When you do a programmed workout the intervals you've programmed are what are used for the splits, and autolap is also disabled. So you can do an interval by distance or time, but not both. You could always set it to run for 20 minutes and then find the splits by looking at the data later, or you could just run it as a regular run with autolap enabled at 1 mile and keep track of the time yourself. Sorry I can't really offer more help than that. Like I said it's been so long since I've used a 405 I could be wrong and if I am hopefully someone will correct me.
  • What does your 1.1 step (Go 1 Mile) look like? If you high light that step does it indicate a 1 mile distance? If so, it should work fine.
