Friends, Connections & Groups Dummy Question

Hi,
I have a dummy question regarding the data privacy of activities.
I can select "Only myself", "Friends", "Connections and Groups" (I'm in german language -> "Nur ich", "Freunde" and "Verbindungen und Gruppen")
My questions: What is the difference between Friends and Connections

I can invide other users to be in connections with me and when I allow "Friends", they are seeing my activities.
I read the help for groups and know that I can share with groups.

So if I select "Connections and Groups", do I share then with Friends and Groups. Is that meant?

When running with English as language, it's labeled "Only Me", "My Connections", "My Connections and Groups" and "Everyone".

There's no difference between friends and connections, they are the same. Miss in translation I would say.
