Garmin Connect calorie burn values totally different than Fenix 5
Former Member
Two of us wearing Garmin devices had the same issue today in an indoor cycling class. Calorie burn on the watch is normal (in line with regular and similar workouts) but calorie burn showing for the activity on Garmin Connect is almost double, totally totally off. Anyone else having this problem?
Yes, I experienced the same yesterday with my Fenix 3. I had a quite active day with 10000 steps and 29 floors, and the watch said I had burned a little more than 400 active Calories, but Garmin Connect says 714 active Calories.
This behaviour is new. The watch and Garmin Connect are usually identical.
Same for me. Edge 820 calculates calories on it's own way, but after uploading calories from the device in a min or so is replacing for almost doubled amount. It's weird!
This behavior started after 14 January. On this day Garmin Connect didn't recalculate calories yet. After, It does.
I have a similar issue: Forerunner 230 calculates activities calories, I can look them up on my watch's history (I think the values are right), but Garmin Connect shows zero calories for the activities. While it displays no calories on the activity, daily calorie burn is shown alright. I've noticed this behavior after January 15th.
Same here. Cycling activity on Fenix 3 shows 3200 kcal but when uploaded to GC 4800 kcal. Could it be because I enabled elevation corrections (with elevation going from 2200m to 2800m)? Even if I disable elevation corrections, calories will be the higher 4800kcal value
