VO2max not updating

Hi. I recently purchased a FR235 and the VO2max updated after the first run on Dec 27th. I have done a good few runs since then but the VO2max has not been updated since the first run. Any idea why?
  • I’ve had the same problem with my Felix 5, but when I went onto the garmin connect app (on an iPhone) I noticed that if you dragged down the vo2 max screen it updated. So it seems it does not automatically update, but need to be requested. Hope this helps

what screen is that mate? Can you show how to access it please? Ta

He was referring to tapping the three ellipses-> Performance Stats -> VO2 Max on the mobile app. Pull down on that page and it indicates it’s updating. Unfortunately, that’s not working for me. Nothing is and Garmin support is not helpful. I’ve chatted a few times and they always give direction that doesn’t help and then disconnect me from chat before asking if that answered my question.
  • I usually don't have problem with vo2 max updating, but for my latest run, it did not update. But during that run, my heart rate changed a lot up and down during the run. I think the vo2-max algorithm automatically discards runs that can't be used for calculations. E.g. with too "volatile" HR.

I have Fenix 5x 8 months.I ride every day 30 Klm with my cycle and the vo2 max stay on 42 and not update.
  • Do you ride with a power meter? Because cycling VO2max requires heart rate AND power data.

I don’t have power meter .Have open the HR and other sensors of Fenix 5
  • Well, then no cycling VO2max for you. All you can have is running VO2max, but this will update only with running activities, and not cycling.

For cycling needed Garmin power meter only ?
  • No. Any compatible power meter will do.
